Shapes and Lines

Add Rectangle

Click any shape button to activate the shape toolbar buttons. You can then draw your shape on the canvas, and adjust the shape properties.

Shape Properties:

With the shape properties, you can adjust the line colour, Fill option (filled or not), fill colour, line width, corner radius (for rectangles), line style, and anti-aliasing (smooths edges).

After drawing, cancel the shape tool, by clicking the relevant button again. Clicking the shape again will result in the properties toolbar re-appearing to allow you to adjust the shape again.

Resizing Shapes:

Shapes can be resized using the resize dialog or using the resize handles around the shape.

Applying Filters to shapes or rotating shapes:

Before applying a filter to a shape, or rotating it, you should rasterize the shape by selecting the shape and clicking the rasterize button. This will flatten the shape and convert it to a raster bitmap, so the filter will apply correctly. If shapes are not rasterized beforeapplying filters, the filter effect may be lost later in editing when the shape properties are editing again.

Note: After rasterizing a shape, shape properties are no longer editable.
